What is Big Ego Podcast?
Big Ego Podcast is a video podcast platform created by Bobby Kasanga. The podcast launched in May 2020 as the first of a series of interviews between the host and a variety of personalities including reformed criminals, sportspeople and musicians. All of the content is hosted on the Big Ego Media YouTube channel.
The podcast came about following Big Ego Media’s output of biography-based videos documenting lives of musicians and UK-based murder victims, as well as his own personal experience of prison. Rather than retelling the story, Bobby gave a platform to rappers, sportspeople and content creators to describe it from their own perspective.
Guests on Big Ego Podcast include Young Spray, Cashh and Tricky.
Big Ego Podcast Format
Standard Big Ego Podcast Episodes
Big Ego Podcast episodes are generally recorded in an intimate studio environment with the cameras focused solely on the interviewee. The host asks the questions to guide the guest through an hour’s worth of their life story. Bobby often asks about the individual’s early years, upbringing and, if applicable, how they may have strayed into trouble.
For interviewees that have spent time in prison, Bobby often asks the guests to reflect on their decisions and how they ended up in the position they ended up in.
Covid-19 Big Ego Podcast Episodes
Early Big Ego Podcast episodes were recorded via video chat due to Covid-19 restrictions at the time. They were often broadcast live and reuploaded to YouTube. Once the conditions allowed, recordings moved to in-person.
